Created by Executive Regional Resolution N° 080-91-CR-GRA-P on 09/06/91.
Illegal timber extraction on the Tamshiyacu River in the interior of the protected area. Tree cutting is systematic and small timber sellers living in Iquitos. The illegal timber passes through Serafín Filomeno Police control point without any control.
Increasing deforestation caused by cattle ranching continues to approach the reserve.
