* The Integrated Management Natural Area (IMNA) category is meant to harmonize the conservation of biological diversity with the sustainable development of the local population. It constitutes a mosaic of land uses, including representative samples of ecoregions, biogeographic provinces, natural communities or plant and animal species of special importance, traditional land use systems, multiple-use zones, and strict protection zones (Art. 25, D.S. N° 24.781, 31.07.1997).
